Opportunity: Assistant Foreman |
Purpose: Provide leadership to complete tasks
and projects within a single crew.
Job Responsibilities
- Train new crew members in industry safety rules and regulations
and best practices.
- Develop significant understanding of project needs and goals
by reading and interpreting blueprints and by consulting Foreman
or Project Manager.
- Identify daily project requirements such as equipment, manpower,
materials, etc., and coordinates needs with Foreman or Project
Manager and Purchaser.
- Direct crew in project while participating in the work; provide
accurate, timely company documentation of work performed and
materials used.
- Obtains paychecks from Bookkeeping and distribute to employees
within their crew biweekly. Makes recommendations for raises
and growth opportunities for personnel to Foreman or Project
Manager.
- Obtain contractor signatures for extra work authorization.
- May be principle driver of company vehicle or vehicle/trailer
combination.
- Report accidents immediately to administration.
Principal Problems/Challenges
- Maintain an accurate paper trail of work performed while leading
a crew.
- Increase construction and leadership skills.
Freedom to Act
- Report to Foreman or Project Manager.
- Communicate any issues to Foreman or Project Manager concerning
the project or performance of any crew member.
- Assign and organize work for crew members under direction
from Foreman or Project Manager.
Scope
- Diverse projects which range from residential to multi-family
to commercial.
- Geographical range in typically the Front Range, Castle Rock
to Loveland, and west to Vail.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Paperwork is completed in company office.
- Work is primarily Monday - Friday; hours are subject to change
with weather conditions and work load. Overtime is common Spring
- Fall.

Qualifications for the Position
- 1 year experience in landscape construction techniques.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and safety rules and
regulations.
- Proficient with broad range of equipment commonly used in
landscape construction work.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Valid Colorado driver's license and social security card.
If not a United States citizen, must additionally have a valid
visa or work permit.
