Purpose: This position provides support to the
construction crews as driver of large, commercial trucks and trailers.
Job Responsibilities
- Pick up, transport, deliver and remove materials as needed
for construction jobs in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load tractors, bobcats, backhoes, etc. and transport as required.
- Maintain vehicle logs as required by CDOT requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness, maintenance, licensing and inspections
of large trucks & trailers.
- Strictly adhere to all local, state and industry safety practices.
Principal Problems/Challenges
- Transport diverse materials in a broad geographical area in
a safe and timely manner.
Freedom to Act
- Directed by Top Management.
- Prioritize & integrate requests from Project Managers and
Foremen into daily schedule.
- Schedule truck and trailer maintenance and inspections.
- Notify President or Vice-president of any accidents or damage.
Scope
- Individual uses technical skill and experiences to accomplish
a broad range of duties. Projects are usually of short duration
(less than one day). Typically has many projects in any given
day. Involved in almost all projects.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Work is primarily Monday - Friday. Hours are subject to change
with weather conditions and work load. Overtime is common Spring
- Fall.
- Snow removal work may require night-time hours with extensive
overtime and may occur on weekends and holidays. This would
be very rare for this position.
Contacts
- Communicate at all levels of the company, with vendors, suppliers,
maintenance personnel, superintendents at client sites and homeowners.
Qualifications for the Position
- Valid Colorado CDL Class A. and current CDOT Medical Certificate.
- Valid social security card and Colorado driver's license with
clean record for past three years.
- Experience with driving/loading tractors, bobcats, and backhoes.
- English speaking, bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in commercial truck driving.
