Opportunity: Estimating Assistant |
Purpose: This individual supports the bidding
processes at the company by providing details derived from blueprints
and supporting documentation of potential business opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Copy proposed job plans and produce, disseminate, and archive
takeoff data used in cost estimates.
- Produce, organize and file plan copies in support of company
projects. May produce detailed plans to support assistant foremen.
- Assign job numbers for newly contracted work and assign part
numbers when needed.
- Request utility locates and archive locate results in support
of contracted work.
Principal Problems/Challenges
- Efficiently complete tasks while responding to frequent interruptions.
- Work in a bilingual environment (English/Spanish).
- Obtain resolution to insufficiently detailed plans and supporting
documents.
Freedom to Act
- Under general direction of Top Management.
- Works within approved standards, guidelines and procedures.
Scope
- May be working on more than one project at a time.
- Must meet deadline constraints.
- Use technical or administrative skills to perform well-defined
tasks.
Work Environment
- Work is primarily at the company headquarters. Use personal
vehicle for trips to clients and reproduction centers when necessary.
Is reimbursed per IRS regulations.
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM, but can be flexible.
- Overtime is generally not necessary.

- Top Management, Project Managers, Foremen, Assistant Foremen,
Designers, Landscape Architects, utility locate personnel.
Qualifications for the Position
- 3 years successful landscape estimating using plans and drawings.
- Significant experience using Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge
of Intuit's Master Builder accounting application is a plus.
- Valid Colorado driver's license and social security card.
