Employment Opportunity: Irrigation Laborer

Purpose: This person provides physical labor required to perform basic irrigation construction and maintenance duties for landscaping.

Job Responsibilities

• Work on well-defined, routine tasks under the supervision of an assistant foreman, foreman, or project manager.
• Work on tasks planned, scheduled, and assigned by others.
• Communicate task results and issues in a timely manner as required.
• Contribute through a team effort.
• Specific responsibilities defined by supervisor and subject to change.

Principal Problems/Challenges

• Gain knowledge in the procedures and the tools required to support them. Produce high quality work.

Freedom to Act

• Work supervised daily and reviewed daily, must accept direction well.
• No independent action or decision-making authority.
• Work within approved standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Supervisor completely responsible for individual's time and assignments.
• Observe all safety practices. Report all injuries to supervisor immediately.

Scope

• Individual able to perform well-defined tasks.
• Geographical area is typically the Front Range, Castle Rock to Loveland, and west to Vail.

Work Environment

• Work is outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
• Work is primarily Monday - Friday; hours are subject to change with weather conditions and work load. Overtime is common Spring - Fall.
• Snow removal work may require night-time hours with extensive overtime and may occur on weekends and holidays.

Qualifications for the Position

• Knowledge of irrigation construction techniques and safety practices.
• Must be eighteen years of age.
• Must have a picture ID and social security card. If not a United States citizen, must have a valid visa or work permit and social security card.
• Colorado driver's license is a plus.
• English is a plus.
